How I Embed YouTube Videos in Beaver Builder (5 Steps, 2026)

how to embed youtube videos in beaver builder websites with smash balloon

Quick answer: Beaver Builder has no YouTube feed module. To embed a feed of your videos, build it in Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro, copy the shortcode, then paste it into a Beaver Builder Text Editor module. Takes about 5 minutes.

Just need one video? Beaver Builder’s built-in Video module embeds a single YouTube URL. Use the plugin when you want a feed that updates itself.

Here is exactly how I set mine up, with screenshots of every field.

Beaver Builder does not have a YouTube feed module. So most people end up dropping in one video at a time, then going back into the builder every time they publish something new.

I got tired of that on my own site. Now I use Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro to pull my whole channel in once, and it keeps itself current after that. New upload goes live on YouTube, it appears on my site, I do nothing.

Below are the exact 5 steps I follow, plus the cases where Beaver Builder’s own Video module is honestly the better tool.

In this Article:

One video or your whole channel?❌ One at a time✅ Whole channel or playlist
Does it update when you post a new video?❌ No, you re-embed by hand✅ Yes, on its own

Can you choose a layout?❌ Single player only✅ Grid, gallery, list, carousel
Do you need a YouTube API key?✅ No⚠️ Yes, for most feed types
Does it push viewers to other channels?⚠️ Yes, related videos appear✅ No, only your videos show
Works as a muted background header?✅ Yes❌ No, different job

If you are dropping a single video onto a sales page, use the Video module and skip the plugin. It is already in your builder and it does that job fine.

The plugin earns its place when the videos keep coming. Set the feed up once and every new upload shows on your site without you opening Beaver Builder again. That “related videos” row matters too: a standard embed can send someone straight to a competitor’s channel the moment your video ends.

Best Way for Beaver Builder Websites to Embed YouTube

Full disclosure: I work at Smash Balloon, so of course I am going to recommend our plugin. That is exactly why the comparison table above gives Beaver Builder’s native module the wins it deserves, and why I will tell you where the plugin is more trouble than it is worth.

The tool I use is Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro. Instead of embedding videos one by one, you connect your channel once and the plugin builds a feed that refreshes itself.

The part I did not expect to care about: the feed inherits my theme’s fonts and colors automatically. I have never written a line of CSS for it.

Smash Balloon helps website owners turn real social content into trust signals that increase credibility and conversions, and a live video feed does that in a way a single embedded player does not.

Using this plugin, it’s easier than ever to add YouTube videos to your WordPress website, absolutely no coding needed.

So, you can show a feed of YouTube videos, and your visitors can click on a thumbnail to watch the full video they’re interested in.

Plus, YouTube Feed Pro works perfectly with Beaver Builder, as well as other WordPress page builder plugins like Elementor, SeedProd, and Divi.

In fact, all the YouTube video feeds you embed will copy your WordPress theme’s design and look beautiful right out of the box.

  • To create, customize, and embed feeds of YouTube videos with ease, all you have to do is follow a simple 3-step guided flow.
  • The plugin lets you embed your YouTube channel, live streams, playlists, search results, and single video posts.
  • Since YouTube Feed Pro comes with smart loading, you can add as many videos as you want
  • You can create beautiful YouTube video feeds with unique designs by importing pre-built templates and using the visual customizer.
  • All your YouTube video feeds are 100% responsive and will load perfectly for visitors using phones and tablets.

Ready to embed YouTube videos in Beaver Builder? Get your copy of YouTube Feed Pro today!

With that, let’s get started with our Beaver Builder tutorial.

How to Embed YouTube Videos in Beaver Builder Websites

The whole thing runs on one shortcode. You install Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro, create a feed and connect it to your channel with an API key, style it in the visual customizer, then paste the shortcode into a Beaver Builder Text Editor module.

Budget about 5 minutes, most of which is generating the API key.

Step 1: Install Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro

Ready to get started? First, get your copy of YouTube Feed Pro here, then install and activate it.

For a quick refresher on how you can do that, you can follow this WordPress tutorial on how to install plugins.

I keep this plugin installed even on sites that only need a single video, because the day a client asks for “all our videos on one page” the shortcode is already sitting there.

Step 2: Create a YouTube Video Feed

Once the plugin is ready, open the YouTube Feed » All Feeds menu from your WordPress dashboard area.

Then, click on Add New to start the plugin’s guided flow.

add new youtube feed.

After you do that, the plugin will ask you to pick the type of YouTube feed you want to create. You have 6 options to pick from:

  • Channel
  • Playlist
  • Favorites
  • Search
  • Live Streams
  • Single Videos

For this guide, I went with the Channel feed type.

Once you select the type of YouTube video feed, click on the Next button.

choose your youtube feed type.jpg

Pick the feed type that matches how you actually publish. Channel is right for most people, because it picks up everything new without you choosing videos one at a time.

Step 3: Connect Your YouTube Account

Now that you’ve created a feed, it’s time to connect it to your YouTube account. This way, YouTube Feed Pro can automatically fetch videos and display them on your website.

To do that, the simplest way is to enter a YouTube API Key.

In case you don’t have an API key yet, we’ve got a tutorial for beginners on how to create a YouTube API Key.

After you get your key, return to your website and select the Add API Key button here.

Finally, paste the YouTube API key into the popup and click on the Add button to proceed.

add api key youtube

After that, it’s time to enter the source that you’ll use for the YouTube video feed.

This source is basically the YouTube channel, playlist, search term, and more that you want to display on the Beaver Builder site.

For example, I’ll embed videos from the WPbeginner YouTube channel in this guide.

So, I simply opened the YouTube channel and copied the channel ID at the end of the link.

copy the username youtube channel

Once you copy your source like this, return to your website. Here, paste the copied text into the Channel ID or Username field on the popup.

You can then click on the Next button to proceed.

enter source for youtube feed

If you can, get the API key rather than using the quick connect button. This lets you make sure your YouTube feeds are updated more often.

Step 4: Customize Your YouTube Videos

Since you’ve connected the source, YouTube Feed Pro will handle the rest and automatically create a video feed that watches your site.

On top of that, you can choose to embed a pre-designed template for your videos:

  • Default
  • Carousel
  • Cards
  • List
  • Gallery
  • Latest Video
  • Showcase Carousel
  • Widget

Just pick a template you like and click on the Next button to continue.

You’ll then see your YouTube videos open in the visual customizer.

Here, the options on the left will let you change your layout, color scheme, header design, video style, and much more.

Plus, the live preview on the right will let you track any changes in real-time, so customization is easier and more accurate.

First, let’s change the layout of the videos on your Beaver Builder site.

Click on the Feed Layout option to start doing that.

select layout option in the visual customizer

Now, the plugin will let you choose from 4 different layouts for your YouTube videos:

  • Grid: Show tons of videos at once in neat rows and columns
  • Gallery: Display one video prominently with other thumbnails below
  • List: Display videos in a single row so each video has more space
  • Carousel: Turn your video feed into an interactive slideshow carousel

Once you’re happy with your layout, click on the Save button to keep your changes.

After you do that, you can return to the previous customization options by clicking on Customize.

return to main customization options

Next, let’s change the header that appears above our YouTube videos.

You can do that by selecting the Header option on the left.

open header section youtube feed pro

At the top left, you can see the option to Enable or Disable the header.

Below that, you can choose between 2 different types of headers:

  • Standard: Show a channel icon, name, description, and more
  • Text: Write a heading to show above your feed

In case you picked the standard header, you can choose to enable or disable Channel Descriptions and the number of Subscribers.

Like before, click on Save to keep your new header.

As you can see, the visual customizer gives you an easy way to change your color scheme, load more buttons, number of videos, and more. Once you’re happy with your YouTube video feed, click on Save once again.

Do your styling here, not in Beaver Builder. The feed already inherits your theme, so anything you override in the builder is work you repeat on every page you embed it on.

Step 5: Embed YouTube Videos in Beaver Builder

Ready to add the YouTube videos to your Beaver Builder site?

First, click on the Embed button at the top.

Next, you’ll see all the ways to embed the YouTube video feed. You can embed it on a page, add it to your sidebar, or even display the feed on your footer.

For now, click on the Copy button to save your shortcode.

Next, you can create a new page in Beaver Builder to embed the videos.

Just open the Pages » Add New menu from your dashboard and then click on Launch Beaver Builder.

This will open the page in the Beaver Builder plugin’s drag-and-drop editor with the different content modules on the right.

On the left, you can find a live preview of the landing page you’re currently working on.

Before you can paste the shortcode, first, look for the Text Editor module on the right.

Then, drop this module into your web page on the left.

After you do that, Beaver Builder will open the additional options for this module.

Finally, paste your shortcode into the field and then click on Save.

Just like that, YouTube Feed Pro will automatically add the video feed to your Beaver Builder site. You can now click on the Done button at the top and then select the Publish option.

Save the row as a Beaver Builder template once it works. Every page reusing it points at the same feed, so editing the feed later updates all of them at once.

How Do I Add a YouTube Video Header in Beaver Builder?

A video header is a different thing from an embedded video, which is why the steps above will not produce one. A header is video playing behind your text as a row background, not a player anyone clicks.

To set one:

  1. Hover over the row and click the wrench icon to open Row Settings
  2. Open the Style tab and scroll to Background
  3. Change Background Type to Video
  4. Set the Source field to YouTube and paste your video URL

Beaver Builder also takes MP4 and WebM files from your Media Library here, plus a fallback image for browsers that block autoplay.

Worth knowing before you commit: a background video is decoration. It runs muted and looping, nobody can pause it or pick a different video, and a heavy file will hurt your page speed. Beaver Builder’s own guidance is to keep background video short, muted, and heavily compressed.

So if you want visitors actually watching your videos, use a feed. If you want motion behind a hero headline, the row background is the right call.

Connect your channel once and every new upload appears on its own. No re-embedding, no shortcode edits.

How Embedded YouTube Videos Build Trust on Your Beaver Builder Site

A page with your actual videos on it reads differently to a first-time visitor than a page describing what you do. Here is what a live feed changes:

beaver builder page builder for wordpress websites
  • First-time visitors get proof instead of promises. Someone who has never heard of you can watch you explain your own product. That is a faster route to trust than any amount of body copy.
  • People stay longer, which search engines notice. A visitor watching two videos is a visitor not going back to the results page. Better SEO follows from that.
  • Your YouTube channel grows off the back of your website traffic. Every visitor who watches on your site is one click from subscribing, so the audience you already have starts feeding the one you are building.
  • Video testimonials do the selling you would otherwise have to do yourself. A customer saying it on camera outperforms the same words in a text quote.
  • You stop maintaining it. This is the one I underrated. The feed updates itself, so the videos on your site are current a year from now without you thinking about it once.

Beaver Builder YouTube Questions

Does Beaver Builder have a YouTube module?

Not a feed module. Beaver Builder ships a Video module that embeds one YouTube or Vimeo video at a time, with a poster image, autoplay, looping, and lightbox playback. For a feed of multiple videos that refreshes on its own, you need a plugin.

How do I embed a YouTube video in Beaver Builder without a plugin?

Drag the Video module onto your page, set Video Type to Embed, and paste the YouTube URL. It takes about 30 seconds. The catch is that it is one video, it will not update, and YouTube’s related-videos row can send your visitor to someone else’s channel when it finishes.

Do I need a YouTube API key for this?

For Beaver Builder’s own Video module, no. For a Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro feed, yes for most feed types, because YouTube limits how many daily requests the shared Smash Balloon app can make. Creating your own key takes a few minutes and keeps your feed from breaking on high-traffic days.

Can I embed a playlist or a live stream, not just a channel?

Yes. Smash Balloon YouTube Feed Pro has 6 feed types: Channel, Playlist, Favorites, Search, Live Streams, and Single Videos. Every one of them embeds into Beaver Builder the same way, by pasting its shortcode into a Text Editor module.

Why is my feed not showing inside the Beaver Builder editor?

Shortcode output does not always render in the builder’s preview pane. Click Done and preview the published page before assuming anything is broken. If it is still missing there, the shortcode most likely went into a module that does not process shortcodes.

Start Embedding YouTube Videos Now

That is the whole setup. One shortcode into a Text Editor module, and your Beaver Builder site has a video feed that keeps itself current.

If you only ever need one video on one page, Beaver Builder’s Video module is genuinely enough, and I would not talk you out of it. But if you publish regularly, the difference between re-embedding by hand and never thinking about it again is worth the 5 minutes.
