You’ve spent time collecting great customer reviews.
But if someone lands on your homepage, your checkout page, or your pricing page and never sees them, those reviews aren’t doing much for you.
Until now, showing them as popups meant signing up for a separate tool like TrustPulse or FOMO: another subscription, another setup, another plugin to manage on top of everything else.
Reviews Feed Pro v2.5.0 changes that. The new Review Alerts feature lets you display animated review notification popups anywhere on your site, using the reviews you already have in the plugin.
No third-party tool needed, no extra cost. You can turn your existing reviews into a powerful conversion lever.
Every day your reviews are only visible on feed pages is a day they’re not working for you on your homepage, your pricing page, or your checkout.
Review Alerts fixes that with one update.
Two Ways to Display Your Reviews and Maximize Conversions
Before this update, you could showcase reviews from trusted sites on your webpage using Reviews Feed Pro.
To help you get even more from these existing reviews, you can now directly show reviews to your website visitors using a popup.
With our new Review Alerts, you get two popup styles, each built for a different goal.
Recent Reviews
The Recent Reviews notification cycles through individual reviews one at a time, showing each reviewer’s avatar, name, star rating, and a snippet of what they said.
This allows for highly targeted social proof across your site, such as:
- A local gym could show recent member reviews on their membership signup page.
- A SaaS business could surface reviews praising ease of use right on their demo request page.
By pulling specific feedback into the user’s journey, it makes your social proof feel personal and specific rather than generic.
Aggregate Review
The Aggregate Review popup shows your overall star rating and total review count at a glance.
If you have 400+ reviews and a 4.8 average, that single number says more than any headline you could write.
Even if you have 20 reviews and a strong average rating, that number does real work. A “4.9 stars from 24 reviews” popup tells a first-time visitor everything they need to know before they scroll an inch.
This lets you build credibility instantly — perfect for homepages, landing pages, or anywhere you need trust established fast.
Research also backs this up: 63% of consumers are more likely to purchase from a website that displays user reviews.
As you can see, you’ll be able to match the popup style to what each page actually needs.
You can be personal and specific with Recent Reviews or fast and authoritative with Aggregate Review.
Show Only the Reviews That Do the Heavy Lifting
Most social proof tools will just have every review going into the popup, whether it’s your most glowing 5-star write-up or a vague two-liner that says “pretty good.”
For a better way, Review Alerts gives you full control over which reviews actually appear.
You use the same filters you already know from building your feeds so only your best reviews make it into the popup.
Here are a few ways you can curate your popups:
- A wedding photographer filters by 5 stars only, so only their most glowing reviews rotate through
- A software company filters by keyword, like “easy to use” to surface reviews that address the most common objection on their pricing page
- A restaurant shows only Google reviews on their homepage, since that’s the source their customers trust most
- A consultant combines Google and Trustpilot reviews in a single popup to show breadth of social proof
You can also filter by review length if you want more detailed testimonials or set it to pull randomly for variety. The result is a review popup that always puts your best foot forward.
Purpose-Built for WooCommerce Stores
If you’re running a WooCommerce store, showcasing your product reviews so they’re visible can be a headache.
Our new Review Alerts feature changes that completely.
It automatically detects your WooCommerce review feeds, so you can display customer reviews as popup review alerts.
You can also show the popups on your store pages to directly boost your sales, using the same plugin you already use to manage your reviews.
That means you’ll be able to:
- Show 5-star reviews on a clothing boutique’s “New Arrivals” page to encourage first-time buyers.
- Display the aggregate rating with a popup on your makeup store’s product pages to build customer trust even before they scroll down.
- Have a rotating popup of recent reviews on a pet supply shop to build trust with visitors who are still browsing.
This feature matters more than you’d think. Research shows that 72% of consumers won’t take action until they’ve read a positive review.
A shopper who sees a genuine 5-star popup while browsing a product page is far more likely to hit “Add to Cart” than one who never encounters that social proof at all.
For stores with multiple product lines, you can duplicate any existing popup and adjust the review filters for that category.
So, you’re just tweaking what already works instead of starting from scratch each time.
A Popup That Looks Like It Belongs on Your Site
A lot of third-party social proof tools used to give you limited styling options.
So, you’re often stuck with their branding and look, even if it clashes with the design of your website.
For a better solution, Review Alerts comes with design options to make sure your popups suit your website.
Four Themes to Match Your Style
Right away, you get 4 different themes for your review popups. Plus, each one is clean and readable right out of the box, so you are not starting from zero.
Here is what each theme is best suited for:
- Light: A slightly more structured card with soft shadows. Suits service businesses, consultants, or anyone who wants the popup to stand out just a little more.
- Dark: Bold and high-contrast. Ideal for e-commerce stores, entertainment sites, or brands that lean into strong visual identity.
- Minimal: Clean white background, understated styling. A great fit for portfolio sites, agencies, or any brand that keeps things simple and uncluttered.
- Minimal Dark: Same clean layout, dark background. Works well for tech brands, creative studios, or any site already using a dark color palette.
You can preview each theme directly in the editor before saving anything. As a result, you can confirm exactly what your visitors will see before the popup ever goes live.
Match Your Brand Color in One Click
You can also set a custom accent color to tie the popup to your existing branding.
A popup that matches your brand color feels intentional. One that does not can feel like an ad or a third-party widget, and visitors are more likely to dismiss it.
Here’s how accent color can matter for your website:
- A law firm uses their navy blue to keep everything feeling professional and cohesive
- A kids’ toy store picks a bright green that matches their logo and product photography
- A wedding venue uses a soft blush pink that fits the mood of their site without feeling out of place.
If your site has a primary brand color, that is the one to use here. You can always update it later in case your branding changes.
Compact Mode Keeps Your Content Visible
The most common concern with any popup is that it will annoy visitors or feel intrusive.
Review Alerts was designed specifically to avoid that.
The review popup appears in the corner of the screen.
It never blocks content, never interrupts the reading experience, and never fires the instant someone lands on the page (you set the delay).
When a visitor scrolls near the bottom, the card automatically shrinks into compact mode so it does not cover your footer links or CTAs.
The result is a popup that feels like it belongs on your site rather than one that was bolted on.
Put Popups Exactly Where You Need Them
Review Alerts gives you precise control over exactly where your popups appear and where they stay hidden.
Set How Long the Popup Stays Visible
Right away, the popups come with an initial delay, so they don’t appear the instant a visitor lands on your page.
This means your reviews will be shown only after the visitor is engaged.
You also control how long the popup stays visible and how quickly it cycles through reviews.
To set the timing, open the Review Alert option from the live customizer for your popups.
Under the Fixed option, select the number of seconds you want the popup to be visible.
For something more natural, you can even set a Random timing for your review popups.
That way, you can show the popup for a randomly selected duration within your chosen time range.
A slow cycle gives visitors time to read each review fully. A faster one keeps the popup feeling active and dynamic.
Target the Pages That Need It Most
Not every page on your site needs a review popup. In fact, showing one on the wrong page can feel intrusive instead of helpful.
Here is how different sites get strategic with placement:
- Show your best service reviews on your contact or booking page, where visitors are on the fence about reaching out
- Display product-specific reviews on campaign landing pages to reinforce whatever you’re promoting
- Put your highest-rated reviews on your pricing page, right where purchase hesitation tends to peak
To target specific pages, open the Settings tab in the live customizer for the review popup and select Visibility.
If you pick the All Pages option, the popup will be shown everywhere on your site.
Next, use the filters below to exclude pages where a popup would feel out of place, like your About Us page or FAQ.
If you go with the Specific Pages option, the popup will only appear on your selected pages.
Then, you can use the filters to select pages, post types, and categories where you want to show the reviews.
Once everything is configured, click on Save Draft to apply your settings.
You can also exclude pages where a popup would feel out of place, like your Privacy Policy or Teams page.
Use the Shortcode for Pinpoint Placement
If you need even more precision, you can use the [sbr-popup id=”123″] shortcode to place a specific popup on any individual page manually.
This overrides all your other placement rules so you can have popups that target specific pages. Here’s what you can do with this feature:
- A consultant places a shortcode-specific popup on a case study page to show reviews from clients in that same industry.
- An e-commerce store uses it on a seasonal sale landing page to surface reviews mentioning fast shipping and great packaging.
- A gym uses a review popup on their ‘Free Trial’ page with reviews from members who almost did not sign up but are glad they did.
It is a simple addition that gives you the flexibility to target important pages without rebuilding your targeting rules from scratch.
As a result, you can show the right reviews to the right visitors at exactly the right moment.
Fast for Visitors, Easy for You
Most popup tools load everything upfront. Since every review, every image, and every bit of data fires the moment a page loads, the visitors pay for it with slower load times.
Our Review Alerts feature works differently to keep your page speed scores healthy.
The popup appears right away, but the full review content only loads when a visitor chooses to expand it.
If your visitors pick the “See All Reviews” option, this pulls in your connected reviews in a clean, scrollable format.
Giving them a way to keep reading, right inside the popup, keeps that momentum going instead of sending them off-page to find more.
Duplicate Any Popup in Seconds
Running different popups across different parts of your site used to mean building each one from scratch.
That is a lot of repeated work for what are often small adjustments.
With Review Alerts, you can duplicate any existing popup and adjust just what needs to change.
Open the Reviews Feed » Review Alerts menu from your dashboard once you’ve created a popup.
From there, just click on the Duplicate icon.
Just like that, you can tweak an existing popup to save time and reuse what’s already working.
Here’s what you can do with this feature:
- Duplicate the homepage popup and change the keyword filter to “reporting” for your marketing agency’s analytics service page
- Copy the product page popup and tweak the star rating filter to show more reviews on the landing page of your WooCommerce store.
- Reuse the “Free Trial” popup on your gym website and reuse it for your “Membership Plans” page to get more signups.
As a result, your site loads fast, your visitors can always dig deeper if they want to, and managing multiple popups stays simple no matter how many you create.
How to Set Up Review Alerts (in 5 Minutes)
Since your reviews are already connected to Reviews Feed Pro, there’s nothing to import or set up from scratch.
You’re just choosing how and where to show what’s already there.
With Review Alerts, everything lives inside Reviews Feed Pro. You can set it up once, right inside the plugin you already use, and it works immediately.
To get started, go to Reviews Feed » Review Alerts in your dashboard and click on Add New.
You’ll see a list of all the sources that you’ve used for your reviews feed so far.
Click on a source you want to use for your popup, or add a new one if you’re starting fresh.
After you’ve done that, click on the Create Review Alerts button.
This opens the live customizer, where you can set up the display style, theme, and accent color for your review popups.
If you’ve used the live customizer for your review feeds, this should be familiar.
To change the theme, select the Theme option on the left panel.
Now, you can choose from the different available themes: Light, Dark, Minimal, and Minimal Dark.
Below that, you can set the accent color and positioning for your popups as well.
Every time you make a change, you’ll get a preview on the right.
To change the type of review popups, select the Review Alert option on the left.
At the top, you have the option to pick from Aggregate Review or Recent Reviews.
Once you’ve decided on the alert type, you can start changing the timing.
If you scroll down, you can show or hide different elements of the popup, like the avatar, platform badge, author name, date, and more.
Remember to hit the Save Draft button once you’re done making changes.
Now, let’s see how you can control the reviews that show up as a popup.
First, click on the Settings tab at the top and click on the Filters option.
From here, you can filter by star rating, keywords, review length, or review source.
You can also select how the reviews are sorted so it displays the newest first or the oldest.
Finally, click on the Publish button on the top-right.
You can then visit one of your targeted pages on the front end of your site to confirm the popup appears the way you want.
Check that the theme looks right, the reviews match your filters, and the timing feels natural for a first-time visitor.
Just like that, you have a fully working review notification popup live on your site.
It will start pulling from reviews you already have, match your brand and selected design, and show the popups exactly where you need them.
Your Reviews Are Already in the Plugin. Now Put Them Everywhere.
Did you know that if you update today, you could have a review popup live on your site within the next 10 minutes?
If you’ve already spent time connecting your Google, Trustpilot, or WooCommerce reviews to Reviews Feed Pro, Review Alerts is how you make that work pay off beyond the pages where your feed is embedded.
Tools like TrustPulse charge a separate monthly fee just to show review popups on your site.
With Review Alerts, the same capability is built directly into the plugin you already own. By using the reviews you already have, you get:
- No new subscription
- No new setup
- No new tool to manage
It’s one of the most-requested features we’ve ever shipped, and it’s available right now. Update to Reviews Feed Pro v2.5.0 to turn on Review Alerts.
