How to Schedule Your Facebook Posts from WordPress
With that, let’s go ahead and see how you can schedule Facebook content directly from your WordPress dashboard.
Let’s get started!
Step 1: Create a ClickSocial Account
First, open the ClickSocial website here and start creating your account by clicking on Sign Up.
Once you have a ClickSocial account, return to your WordPress dashboard and open the Plugins » Add New Plugins menu.
On that page, use the search bar at the top to look for the “ClickSocial” plugin.
After you do that, you’ll see ClickSocial in the search results below.
Just click on the Install Now button to proceed.
Now you can simply wait for the plugin to finish installing. This whole process usually only takes a few seconds.
Finally, Activate the plugin and move on to the next step.
Step 2: Connect Your Website to ClickSocial
Before you continue, you can connect your WordPress site to ClickSocial. For that, ClickSocial can give you a unique API key just for your website.
First, return to your ClickSocial dashboard and click on the Generate API Key button.
Here, you can find all the API keys you create for different websites.
To create a new key, click on the Add New button.
After you do that, you’ll see a popup where you can pick a label for the API key.
Just enter the name of your website here and hit the Generate API Key button.
Just like that, ClickSocial will create a unique API key just for your website. This is pretty important, so remember to keep it safe.
You can now Copy the API key and return to your website.
Now that you’re back on your website, you can set finish connecting to ClickSocial.
Just open the ClickSocial menu from the dashboard and click on Setup My Account.
Finally, you can paste the API key into the field here and the click on Connect.
Step 3: Connect Your Facebook Account
Now that you’ve connected your site to ClickSocial, it’s time to go ahead and link your Facebook account.
Click on the Add Account button to get started.
Now, ClickSocial will let you pick the social media platform that you want to connect to:
- Twitter/X
Since we’re scheduling Facebook posts for now, I’ll go ahead and select the Facebook option.
Doing that will redirect you to Facebook, where you can choose your business and Facebook page.
First, confirm your profile before clicking on the Continue button.
Next, you’ll see a list of businesses that you can connect to your WordPress site.
So, you can simply select your business and click on Continue.
Next, the popup will show you a list of Facebook pages that you’ve created so far.
Just like before, select your page and click on Continue.
After you do that, you can give ClickSocial permission to schedule Facebook posts on your behalf.
Simply click on the Got it button to finish linking your account.
Before you move on, you can choose between 2 different time zones:
- Use ClickSocial’s connected account timezone
- Use WordPress site timezone
You can pick any option depending on your preference. For now, I’ll stick with my website’s timezone.
Finally, you can click on the Finish Setup button.
Step 4: Setup Your Facebook Post Calendar
Now that you’ve connected your Facebook account, ClickSocial will take you to the post calendar. This is where you can create new Facebook posts, set up your posting times, and change other settings.
What’s more, you can track your scheduled posts, drafts, published content, and posts awaiting approval.
Before drafting our Facebook post, let’s change the posting times for ClickSocial.
You can do that by clicking on the Edit Schedule button at the top.
Now, you’ll see a popup where you can choose the available time slots where you can schedule Facebook posts.
First, use the checkboxes on the left to select the days where you want to post.
After you pick your dates, you can use the dropdown menu on the right to change the time slots.
Alternatively, you can add slots by clicking on the plus (+) icon and delete slots using the red trash icon.
Just like that, you can pick the date and time where you can schedule Facebook posts. Plus, you can even choose to schedule each post for a custom time if you prefer.
To continue, click on the Save Changes button.
Step 5: Schedule a Facebook Post
Now, it’s time to create your Facebook post and schedule it. You can do that directly from this dashboard.
Either click on the plus (+) icon or use the Add New button in the top right.
Now, ClickSocial will open the post composer where you can draft your Facebook post. Plus, you can use this same post composer to create posts for Twitter and Instagram.
Ready to get started? Write the text of the Facebook post into the composer. You can also include the relevant hashtags or paste the links here.
Using the icons below your text, you can also add other types of content to your Facebook post from this composer:
- Photo
- WordPress Post
- Video
For this example, I’ll attach a photo from the WordPress media library.
Once you’ve created your Facebook post, you can check how it’ll look for your Facebook followers.
You can do that by clicking on the Preview button on the composer.
Once you’re happy with your Facebook post, it’s time to schedule it using one of the time slots you created earlier.
First, click on the dropdown menu above the Publish button.
Now, you’ll see a popup that lets you pick the day and time for your Facebook post.
Using the calendar on the left, select the day when you want the post to go online.
Then you can pick a time slot on the right or select a time manually by clicking on Schedule for custom time.
Once you’ve picked the scheduling time, click on Add time to Schedule to proceed.
Just like that, your Facebook post is ready to be scheduled. You can still make changes to your post from here if you like.
Finally, click on the Schedule Post button once you’re ready.
