Today, I am excited to share that Smash Balloon is joining Awesome Motive.
Awesome Motive is the management company behind the largest WordPress resource site, WPBeginner, and many of the popular WordPress plugins like OptinMonster, WPForms, MonsterInsights, All in One SEO Pack, WP Mail SMTP, and more.
I launched Smash Balloon in 2013 with a mission to help businesses easily create and display custom social media feeds in WordPress, so they can leverage social proof to boost engagements, sales, and conversions.
Since then, Smash Balloon has created the most popular social feed plugins for WordPress with over 1,300,000+ active installs.
It has been an amazing journey thus far, and I’m extremely thankful for the support of the Smash Balloon community.
With Awesome Motive’s vast resources and deep understanding of the WordPress industry, I know we’ll be able to bring even more powerful solutions to the Smash Balloon community.
This is HUGE news, and you probably have a lot of questions like: how did this merger come about, what will happen to the Smash Balloon team, what’s coming next, etc.
Background Story
I have known of Syed Balkhi, founder of Awesome Motive, for multiple years. Syed has supported Smash Balloon since the early days by featuring it on WPBeginner.
Last year, I had the opportunity to connect with Syed and learn more about Awesome Motive.
In our conversations, one thing that became clear was Syed and I share a lot of core values when it comes to building products that are customer-focused and easy to use.
This is why I’m excited to be joining Awesome Motive as a partner.
I have a lot of respect for what Syed and team has built at Awesome Motive, and I’m looking forward to learning and leveraging their knowledge to continue to make Smash Balloon even better.
What will happen to the Smash Balloon team?
As I mentioned, as part of this acquisition I’m joining Awesome Motive as a partner. I will continue to lead Smash Balloon, and our entire team is joining Awesome Motive as well.
This acquisition also means that we will be hiring and growing the Smash Balloon team, so we can bring even more powerful solutions your way (faster).

Aside from ownership change, it’s business as usual. You can continue to use the plugins that you love without any interruption.
Behind the scenes, we’re upgrading our support workflows and growing the team, so we can better serve our community.
In the coming weeks, you’ll likely see a lot more helpful tutorials on our blog to better highlight all the amazing features that are available in our plugins.
I’m also working with Syed to build our next product that a lot of you have been asking for. It’s going to be a game changer.
Last but not least, we will continue our work on staying up to date with various social platform APIs, so we can bring you the best social feed features as they become available.
