Would you like your visitors to watch your Instagram Reels in a fullscreen player they can swipe through, right on your site?
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how Swipe View works in Instagram Feed Pro and how to turn it on or off. All you need is Instagram Feed Pro and a feed that shows Reels.
Requirements: Swipe View requires Instagram Feed Pro version 6.14.0 or higher, available with any paid license level.
Before you get started, make sure Instagram Feed Pro is installed and activated on your WordPress site.
Swipe View is turned on by default. That means the Reels in your feeds already open in it, with no setup needed.
Here is what we will cover:
Watching Reels in Swipe View
To get started, we’ll look at Swipe View the way your visitors see it.
To open Swipe View, click a Reel in your feed on the front end of your site.

The Reel opens in a fullscreen, vertical player and starts playing. The player also shows the caption and a View on Instagram button. When your feed includes them, it shows the account’s username, a Follow button, and the like and comment counts too.

Here’s how visitors can use the player:
- Move between Reels — Swipe up or down, scroll, or click the arrows beside the player. The up and down arrow keys on a keyboard work too.
- Turn the sound on or off — At the top of the player, click the speaker button.
- Close the player — In the top-left corner, click the X. The Esc key works too.
Swipe View only moves through the Reels that have loaded in that feed. Photos and other videos in the feed still open in the classic lightbox.
Note: Swipe View only changes feeds that open posts in a lightbox. If a feed’s lightbox is turned off in the feed editor’s Lightbox settings, its posts keep behaving the way they do now.
If you prefer the classic lightbox for Reels, you can turn Swipe View off.
Turning Swipe View On or Off
To change this setting, go to Instagram Feed » Settings. Then, click the Advanced tab.

Next, turn the Enable Swipe View for Reels toggle on or off. When it’s on (the default), Reels open in Swipe View. When it’s off, Reels open in the classic lightbox, like the rest of your posts.

When you’re done, click Save Changes.

That’s it! You now know how Swipe View works and how to turn it on or off. Next, take a look at our guide on displaying Instagram Stories with Instagram Feed Pro to show your Stories on your site too.
