TikTok Error Message Reference

If you run into an error using the TikTok plugin, please check below to diagnose the issue and find the relevant solution. If you can not find a solution, please send us a support request using our support form.

Feed is not updating:

Please ensure that your plugin is up to take to the latest version and your TikTok source is valid in the plugin settings.

The TikTok Feed Pro will update twice daily.

If your plugin is not updating as expected, first go to TikTok Feeds > Settings > Feeds (tab) and click the Clear All Caches button.

If the feed updates, there may be an issue with your CRON jobs. See our documentation on this here.

There may also be other issues with caching on your site if you use hosts such as WPEngine or SiteGround – you may need to clear any caching from your host or plugins on the website directly. If issues remain, please reach out to us using the support form.

Error: Something is wrong. Please try again later: When attempting account connection.

If you are seeing this message, something went wrong during account connection but we were unable to determine the cause why. Please test the following:

  • Ensure your plugin is updated to the latest version available.
  • Clear your browser’s cache or test setting up the plugin in an “incognito” or “private” browsing tab
  • Test logging out of your TikTok account before attempting the connection

If issues remain, please reach out to our support team.

Error: Unauthorized: When attempting account connection

This error typically occurs when you switch from a staging to a live environment or migrate your site, causing the site URL to differ from the registration token, which is unique for each domain.

To resolve this issue, I recommend clearing the plugin cache. This will reset the connection and allow the Access Token to be re-encrypted. To do this, navigate to TikTok Feed > Settings > Feeds > Caching, and click the Clear All Caches button. After that, try reconnecting the account again.
