We have been working hard to continue providing updated feeds for our users, even after X discontinued our access to their legacy API. As a result of this change, we can no longer support some features that existed previously, because each time the plugin updates a feed, it now incurs a cost.
Frequency of Updates
- There is a limit of 12 to 24 updates per day, spread out among all active feeds on your site.
- For example:
- If you have 24 feeds with one source, each feed will update approximately once every other day (depending on your plan).
- If you have one feed with one source, that feed can update 12 to 24 times per day.
- These limits apply per site where your license is activated.
Supported Feed Types
Currently supported feed types:
- User timelines
- Hashtag feeds
- Search feeds
Not supported at this time:
- Home timelines
- List feeds
- Mentions timelines
These unsupported feed types are no longer available due to changes in the X API, but we may be able to restore support in future updates if the API becomes available.
Loading More Posts
- When first creating a feed, there may be a limited number of posts available (up to 10 or more).
- Posts are cached, and the number of available posts will increase over time as the cache grows.
- The “load more” functionality depends on how many posts have been retrieved and stored in the cache so far.
Removing Limitations
As of April 2023, X (formerly Twitter) introduced a new API tier with limited access available for a $100 monthly fee.
We have added support for this API tier:
- You can enter your own app credentials within the plugin.
- This enables more frequent updates beyond the standard daily limits.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate these platform changes. Our team remains committed to providing a stable, functional, and powerful experience with your Twitter Feed Pro plugin.
