With our new solution for connecting to X (formerly Twitter), each feed update now incurs a cost on our end, which was not the case in the past. Because of this, we have introduced limitations on how often feeds update, the types of feeds supported, and the number of feeds that can be created or refreshed.
Frequency of Updates
Starting in version 2.1:
- Only one feed and one source are supported.
- That feed can update a maximum of once per week.
This helps manage resource usage while keeping your feed active.
Supported Feed Types
Currently, only user timeline feeds are supported.
The following feed types are not supported:
- Hashtag feeds
- Home timeline feeds
These options were removed due to changes in the X (formerly Twitter) API. We may be able to restore support for them in future updates.
Number of Feeds
- Only a single feed can be actively updated in the free version.
This limitation is necessary to control usage under the new API structure.
Loading More Posts
You can still load additional posts within your feed, but with some limitations:
- The total number of posts available is limited and not infinite.
- Posts are cached, and the number of available posts will increase gradually over time.
- When creating a new feed, you may see as few as 1 or as many as 30 posts initially.
Removing These Limitations
As of April 2023, X (formerly Twitter) introduced a new paid API tier that includes a limited number of API requests for a $100 monthly fee.
In version 2.2, our plugin supports this new API tier:
- You can enter your own app credentials.
- This allows for more frequent feed updates.
Alternatively, you can upgrade to the Pro version of the plugin, which includes:
- Unlimited feeds
- Up to 12 daily updates per feed
- Access to advanced features and layouts
